Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Can’t find yours? Just ask Selix in your Slack channel.

Getting started & connecting email

Use the IMAP option. Selix can connect almost any mailbox — a custom domain, a non-Google provider, or a shared inbox — over IMAP/SMTP. Follow the steps in Connect a custom mailbox (IMAP). (Microsoft Outlook / Office 365 support is coming soon.)
The most common cause is that IMAP isn’t enabled at your email provider yet. Turn on IMAP access in your provider’s settings first (on Google Workspace this is an admin setting), then try again. Also double-check your incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) host and port, and use an app password if your provider requires one. Full steps are on the Connect IMAP page.
When you connect Gmail, Selix requests permission to read, compose, and send email on your behalf so it can run campaigns from your inbox. It cannot permanently delete your email — that permission is intentionally not requested.
If you’re on Google Workspace, use the one-click Gmail sign-in — it’s the fastest. For any other provider, use IMAP / Custom SMTP. Both send campaigns from your own address with replies landing in your inbox.

Deliverability

If you connect an established mailbox, no warmup is needed — you can send at your full daily volume right away, because you’re sending from a real inbox with existing history. A brand-new domain or mailbox benefits from warming up first to build sending reputation. You can manage sending volume and warmup from your email settings.

How Selix works

Selix works from your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), the segments it builds from it, and the signals you configure — triggers like a new hire, a funding round, or a job posting that indicate a good moment to reach out. You shape all of this in the Supervisor.
They’re three modes of the same agent. The Supervisor is for brainstorming and strategy — your ICP, ideas, segments, and signals. The Worker executes — turning an idea and a segment into a real campaign, generating variants, and running tests. The Secretary plans and reports — tracking goals, the weekly plan, and the reporting you’d use for leadership.
Prospects receive personalized outreach via email or LinkedIn, based on the campaign you’ve reviewed and launched.
Replies land in your own inbox, and you can also see and manage the conversations from your outbound activity in the Inbox.

Reviewing & editing campaigns

It means a campaign is ready. Click the link Selix sends, review the prospects and messaging, then launch. See Campaign Review for what you can check and change.
Yes. Before you launch, you can review and edit the copy, the personalizers, and the prospect list — nothing sends until you’re happy. See Campaign Review.
You can pause or stop a campaign from its campaign view in the app, or just tell Selix in your Slack channel and it will handle it.

Working with Selix day-to-day

Chat with Selix in your Slack channel anytime — share key facts, talking points, URLs, or new priorities and it will remember them. See Ingesting or Brainstorming for what you can feed it.
That’s an interrupt — Selix reached a point where it needs a decision (about strategy, targeting, or messaging) before it can move forward. Answering unblocks it and it picks up right where it left off. More in Dispatches.
Selix posts a Memory Updated note when it learns something important, sends an interrupt email when it needs a decision, and sends a weekly summary email with status, metrics, and next steps. Details in Dispatches.
Selix connects to your CRM to keep contacts and campaigns in sync. See Connect CRM for setup, or ask the SellScale team if you’re not sure whether yours is supported.
